წმიდა ემილიანე, კვიზიკელი ეპისკოპოსი, ხატმბრძოლი იმპერატორის, ლეონ სომეხის (813-820) დროს განაგებდა კვიზიკის საეპისკოპოსო კათედრას. უღმრთო ხელისუფალმა სხვა მღვდელმთავრებთან ერთად სასახლეში მოუხმო მას და ხატთაყვანისცემის წმინდა წესის უარყოფა მოსთხოვა. წმიდა ემილიანემ პირველმა მიუგო მტარვალს, რომ ხატთაყვანისმცემლობის საკითხი ეკლესიაში უნდა განიხილებოდეს, სასულიერო პირთა მიერ და არა მეფის სასახლეში. 815 წელს ნეტარი მღვდელმთავარი მართლმადიდებლობის აღსარებისთვის დაატუსაღეს და გადაასახლეს. 815-820 წლებში მას პყრობილებაში აღმოხდა სული.
