ღირსი ილარიონ თუალელის შესახებ ძალიან მწირი ცნობები მოგვეპოვება. ვიცით, რომ იგი თავდაპირველად ხახულის მონასტერში მოღვაწეობდა და მისი დროის ერთ-ერთი უდიდესი სასულიერო მოღვაწე, მწერალი და მთარგმნელი ყოფილა. გიორგი მცირე (XI ს.) „გიორგი მთაწმინდელის ცხოვრებაში“ წერს, რომ წმიდა ილარიონი იყო „უმაღლესი სათნოებითა და სულიერთა მოღვაწებათა შინა განთქმული“. ილარიონი „ვითარცა მთიები ბრწყინავდა კრებულსა შორის მამათასა, რომლისა სათნოებათა და მოღუაწებათა წარმოთქუმაჲ შეუძლებელ არს“.

- To do the annual calendar, display showing the liturgical readings per week
