ღირსი თადეოზ აღმსარებელი, თეოდორე სტუდიელის მოწაფე, ლეონ V-ის (813-820) მეფობაში ეწამა ხატთა თაყვანისცემისთვის. ხატმბრძოლთა ზეობის ჟამს იგი სამსჯავროზე წარადგინეს. მწვალებლებმა, რომლებიც აბუჩად იგდებდნენ ნეტარს, მაცხოვრის ხატი მიწაზე დადეს, შემდეგ კი მისცვივდნენ უფლის რჩეულს და ძალადობით ხატზე ფეხი დაადგმევინეს. ამის შემდეგ მსაჯულმა თქვა: „შენ ქრისტეს ხატი გათელე, ახლა - შემოგვიერთდი“. მაგრამ წმიდა თადეოზმა ახოვნად უპასუხა, თაყვანს ვსცემ და სიყვარულით ვემთხვევი მაცხოვრის წმიდა ხატს, ჩემი ნების საწინააღმდეგოდ მასზე ფეხის დადგმა კი ცოდვად არ შემერაცხებაო და შეაჩვენა ხატმბრძოლთა უსჯულოება. ამისთვის უფლის რჩეული სასტიკად ტანჯეს, შემდეგ კი მიწაზე ათრიეს და ცოცხალ-მკვდარი ქალაქის გალავანს მიღმა დააგდეს. ერთმა ქრისტიანმა წმიდანი შინ მიიყვანა. ნეტარმა თადეოზმა კიდევ სამი დღე იცოცხლა, შემდეგ კი სული უფალს შეჰვედრა.
