წმიდა ღირსმოწამე ვადიმ არქიმანდრიტი (+376) - სპარსეთის ქალაქ ბითლაპატში დაიბადა IV საუკუნეში, იზრდებოდა მდიდარ და ცნობილ ოჯახში. იგი ახალგაზრდობაშივე გაეცნო ქრისტიანულ მოძღვრებას, ქონების ნაწილი დაარიგა, უდაბნოში წავიდა და დარჩენილი ფულით მონასტერი დააარსა. წმიდა ვადიმი ლოცვისთვის მთაზე ადიოდა ხოლმე, სადაც ერთხელ ღვთის დიდების ხილვის ღირსი შეიქმნა. ამ დროს სპარსეთის მეფემ, საპორმა (310-381) დაიწყო ქრისტიანთა დევნა. წმიდა ვადიმი შვიდ მოწაფესთან ერთად შეიპყრეს, სასტიკად გვემეს და აიძულებდნენ თაყვანი ეცათ მზისთვის და ცეცხლისთვის, მაგრამ ღირსი აღმსარებლები მტკიცედ იცავდნენ ქრისტიანობას. მათ ოთხი თვე გაატარეს ციხეში, მთელი ამ ხნის მანძილზე წმიდა ვადიმი იყო სულიერი მოძღვარი და საყრდენი სპარსეთში მცხოვრები ქრისტიანებისათვის.
