წმიდა მოწამე ფერბუთა ქალწული დასთან და მხევალთან ერთად მოწამეობრივად აღესრულა 341-343 წლებს შორის. ფერბუთა და მისი და, რომლის სახელიც უცნობია, იყვნენ ქრისტესთვის აღსრულებული სელევკიის ეპიკოპოსის სიმეონის ღვიძლი დები. ისინი მოსამსახურესთან ერთად წაიყვანეს სპარსეთის მეფის, საპორის კარზე. წმიდა ფერბუთა საარაკო სილამაზით გამოირჩეოდა. დედოფალმა მას ურჩია, გათხოვილიყო, მაგრამ წმიდანმა უარი განაცხადა, რადგან ქალწულობის აღთქმა ჰქონდა დადებული. მალე დედოფალი დასნეულდა. მის სამკურნალოდ მოწვეული მოგვი დაატყვევა ქალწულის სილამაზემ და ცოლობა სთხოვა. წმიდა ფერბუთამ კი უპასუხა, რომ ის ქრისტეს სასძლოა.
