წმიდა მოწამე პორფირე იულიანე განდგომილის (361-363) ზეობისას ეწამა. პორფირე მსახიობი იყო და იმპერატორის დაბადების დღეს თეატრში ასრულებდა როლს, რომლის მიხედვითაც ნათლისღების საიდუმლო აბუჩად უნდა აეგდო; მაგრამ როცა პიესის მსვლელობის დროს ნეტარი წყალში ჩაეშვა და წარმოთქვა: „ნათელს იღებს მონა ღვთისა პორფირე, სახელითა მამისათა და ძისათა და სულისა წმიდისათა“, სულიწმიდის მადლი გარდამოვიდა მასზე და, წყლიდან ამოსულმა, აშკარად აღიარა ქრისტიანობა. იულიანემ იქვე ბრძანა, სასტიკად ეწამებინათ ნეტარი, შემდეგ კი თავი მოეკვეთათ. ეს მოხდა ქალაქ ეფესოში 361 წელს.
