წმიდა ოსია აღმსარებელი IV საუკუნეში მოღვაწეობდა. იგი სამოცზე მეტი წლის მანძილზე წინამძღვრობდა კორდოვის (ესპანეთი) ეკლესიას. წმიდა იმპერატორი კონსტანტინე დიდი (306-337) დიდ პატივს სცემდა მას და თავის უახლოეს მრჩევლადაც გაიხადა. სწორედ ოსიას რჩევით მოიწვია ღვთისმოყვარე ხელისუფალმა ნიკეის I მსოფლიო კრება 325 წელს. წმიდა მამა ამ კრების ყოველი დადგენილების ქვეშ პირველი აწერდა ხელს. 347 წელს იგი თავმჯდომარეობდა სარდის ადგილობრივ კრებას. წმიდა კონსტანტინე დიდის მიცვალების შემდეგ ოსია მტკიცედ იცავდა მღვდელმთავარ ათანასე ალექსანდრიელს არიანელი იმპერატორის კონსტანციუსისაგან (337-361), რისთვისაც სირმიაში გაასახლეს. უფლის რჩეული მშვიდობით მიიცვალა 359 წელს, კორდოვაში დაბრუნების შემდეგ
