წმიდა მრავალვნებული იობი (დაახლ. 2000-1800 წ. ქრისტემდე) ცხოვრობდა ჩრდილოეთ არაბეთში, ყუცის ქვეყანაში. მისი ცხოვრება აღწერილია ბიბლიაში (იობის წიგნი). არსებობს ვარაუდი, რომ იობი აბრაამის ძის, ნაქორის ვაჟი იყო. ღვთისმოშიში და ღვთისმოსავი იობი მთელი სულით უფლის ნებას იყო მინდობილი. ღმერთმა აკურთხა მისი კეთილმსახურება და ურიცხვი სიმდიდრე მიმადლა: უამრავი საქონელი ჰყავდა და ყოველგვარი სიკეთით იყო აღსავსე. მისი შვიდი ვაჟი და სამი ასული ურთიერსიყვარულით ცხოვრობდა. ისინი მორიგეობით იკრიბებოდნენ ერთმანეთთან საერთო ტრაპეზზე, ყოველ მეშვიდე დღეს მართალი იობი მსხვეპლს სწირავდა უფალს შვილებისათვის: „იქნებ ვინმემ შესცოდა, იქნებ ვინმემ მკრეხელობა გაივლო გულშიო“. სამართლიანობისთვის და პატიოსნებისთვის წმიდა იობი საყოველთაო პატივით სარგებლობდა თანამოქალაქეებში.
