ღირსი დავით თესალონიკელი (+დაახლ. 540), წმიდა მოწამეთა, თეოდორესა და მერკურის სახელობის მონასტერში მოსაგრეობდა, შემდგომ კი ქალაქ თესალონიკის სიახლოვეს, ნუშის ხის ქვეშ ტალავარი მოაწყო და იქ დამკვიდრდა. წმიდა მამა გამუდმებით ლოცულობდა, მკაცრად მარხულობდა, მოთმინებით იტანდა ყინვასა და პაპანაქებას. უფალს სათნოეყო მისი ღვაწლი და სასწაულთქმედების ნიჭი მიმადლა. ნეტარი მოსაგრე კურნავდა სნეულებს, სულის სარგებელ რჩევებს აძლევდა ყველა მომსვლელს. უვნებლობას მიღწეულ, მიწიერ ანგელოზს მიმსგავსებულ მამას შეეძლო, გავარვარებული ნაკვერცხლები საკმევად ისე აეღო ხელში, რომ არაფერი დაშავებოდა.
