წმიდა მოციქულ სტეფანეს პავლე მოციქული ახსენებს კორინთელთა მიმართ I ეპისტოლეში (1 კორ. 16,15-18). იგი წერს: „ხოლო გლოცავ თქუენ, ძმანო, რამეთუ იცით სახლი იგი სტეფანაჲსი, ვითარმედ არს პირველი აქაიაჲსაჲ და მსახურად წმიდათა დააწესნეს თავნი თჳსნი, რაჲთა თქუენცა დაემორჩილნეთ ეგევითართა მათ და ყოველსავე თანა-შემწესა და მშრომელსა, ხოლო მიხარის მოსლვასა მას ზედა სტეფანაჲსსა და ფორტუნატესსა და აქაიკესსა, რამეთუ თქუენი იგი დაკლებული ამათ აღავსეს, რამეთუ განუსუენეს ჩემსაცა სულსა და თქუენსაცა. იცნითმცა უკუე ეგევითარნი იგი“.
