წმიდა მოწამე იულია ქალწული კართაგენში დაიბადა, ღვთისმოშიში ქრისტიანების ოჯახში. ის ჯერ კიდევ ყრმა იყო, როცა მომხდურმა სპარსელებმა ტყვედ ჩაიგდეს, სირიაში წაიყვანეს და ერთ ვაჭარს მონად მიჰყიდეს. წარმართთა გარემოცვაში მყოფი იულია იცავდა ქრისტეს მცნებებს, ბატონს ერთგულად ემსახურებოდა, მარხვებს ინახავდა, ბევრს ლოცულობდა... წარმართმა მეპატრონემ ვერც დაპირებებით, ვერც მუქარით ვერ შეძლო მისი გადაბირება კერპთაყვანისმცემლობაზე.
