წმიდა მოწამე ურსპასიანე (+295) ქ. ნიკომიდიაში ეწამა. იმპერატორ მაქსიმელიან გალერიუსი სასტიკად დევნიდა ჯარში და სასახლის კარზე მომსახურე ქრისტიანებს. წარჩინებულმა კარისკაცმა ურსპასიანემ თავისი მოსასხამი და ქამარი იმპერატორის წინაშე დაყარა და უთხრა: „ამიერიდან ვარ მხედარი ზეცათა მეუფისა, უფლისა იესო ქრისტესი. დაიბრუნე შენგან მოძღვნილი ნიშნები წარჩინებულობისა“. მაქსიმიანემ ბრძანა, ხეზე მიებათ იგი და ხარის გამხმარი ძარღვებით ეცემათ. შემდეგ წმიდანი რკინის გალიაში ჩასვეს და ცეცხლი შეუნთეს. წმიდა ურსპასიანემ აუტანელი ტკივილები ლოცვით დაითმინა. წმიდანის გვამი ზღვაში გადააგდეს - ის მიცვალების შემდეგაც კი საშიში იყო წარმართებისათვის, რომლებმაც მისი სული ვერ გატეხეს.
