ღირსი პავლე (IV) უბრალოებითა და თავმდაბლობით გამოირჩეოდა. როცა მეუღლის ღალატის ამბავი გაიგო, სახლი დატოვა და უდაბნოში წავიდა წმიდა ანტონ დიდთან (ხს. 17 იანვარს). ამ დროს პავლე უკვე 60 წლის იყო და წმიდა ანტონმა არ მიიღო, რადგან მძიმე განმარტოებული ცხოვრებისათვის სუსტად ჩათვალა. სამი დღის ვედრების შემდეგ წმიდა ანტონმა მორჩილება დაუწესა პავლეს. დიდხანს ცდიდა მძიმე შრომით, მარხვით, ღამისთევით, ფსალმუნთა მოუკლებელი გალობითა და მეტანიებით. ამგვარი გამოცდის შემდეგ კი ნება დართო განმარტოებულ კელიაში დასახლებულიყო.

- To do a completely new approach with banners and a small calendars for other sites,
