წმიდა მოწამე აგრიპინა რომაელი იყო, მან ღვთის სიყვარულის გამო უარი თქვა ჯვრისწერაზე და ქალწულების აღთქმა დადო. როცა იმპერატორმა ვალერიანემ (253-259) მართლმადიდებელთა დევნა დაიწყო, ქრისტეს ტარიგი სამსჯავროზე წარდგა და უშიშრად აღიარა თავისი სარწმუნოება. ამის გამო უსჯულოებმა იგი დაატუსაღეს, წამებით მთლიანად დაუწყლულეს სხეული და ძვლები დაუმტვრიეს. ნატანჯ ქალწულს მტარვალებმა ბორკილები დაადეს, მაგრამ ანგელოზმა გაანთავისუფლა საკვრელთაგან. წმიდა აგრიპინამ ვერ გაუძლო გადატანილ ტანჯვას და დაუძლურებულმა სული უფალს შეჰვედრა. ქრისტიანმა დედებმა ვასამ, პავლამ და აღათონიკამ ფარულად აიღეს მარტვილის ცხედარი და სიცილიაში გადაასვენეს, სადაც მის საფლავთან მრავალი სასწაულებრივი კურნება აღესრულა. დაახლოებით XI საუკუნეში აგრიპინას უხრწნელი ნაწილები კონსტანტინეპოლში გადააბრძანეს.
