ღირსი იული ხუცესი და იულიანე დიაკონი ღვიძლი ძმები იყვნენ. კეთილმსახური ცხოვრებისათვის იული მღვდლად აკურთხეს, მისი ძმა კი - დიაკვნად. ქრისტიანული სარწმუნოების ფართოდ გავრცელების გულწრფელი სურვილით ანთებული მირმიდონიელი ძმები რომის იმპერიის აღმოსავლეთისა და დასავლეთის მივარდნილ ადგილებში ქადაგებდნენ. აქ ჯერ კიდევ მრავლად იყო საკერპოები და უხვი მსხვერპლშეწირვა აღესრულებოდა. ნეტარმა იულიმ და იულიანემ ბევრი წარმართი მოაქციეს ქრისტეს სჯულზე მადლმოსილი სიტყვითა და ღვთივმოვლენილი სასწაულებით. კონსტანტინეპოლში ჩასულებმა იმპერატორ თეოდოსი უმცროსს (408-450) გამოსთხოვეს ნებართვა, საკერპოების ადგილებზე ქრისტიანული ტაძრები აეგოთ.
