წმიდა კალინიკე, კონსტანტინოპოლელი პატრიარქი (693-705) თავდაპირველად ვლაქერნის ყოვლადწმიდა ღვთისმშობლის ტაძრის ხუცესი იყო. 693 წელს კი, პატრიარქ პავლეს (686-693) მიცვალების შემდეგ, კონსტანტინოპოლის ეკლესიის მესაჭეობა მიანდეს. ამ დროს მეფობდა სისასტიკით ცნობილი იუსტინიანე II (685-695). მან ყოვლადწმიდა ღვთისმშობლის სახელობის ტაძრის სიახლოვეს სასახლის აშენება გადაწყვიტა და კალინიკეს უბრძანა, ამ ტაძრის დანგრევაზე მიეცა კურთხევა. წმიდა მამამ უპასუხა, მე მხოლოდ ტაძრების აშენებისთვის ვლოცულობ და არა მათი შემუსვრისათვისო. როცა საყდარი მაინც დაარღვიეს, ნეტარმა ცრემლებით ღაღად-ჰყო: „დიდება შენდა, უფალო, ყოველთა დამთმენელო!“
