წმიდა მოწამე კონსტანტინე კუნძულ მიტილენზე დაიბადა. მისი მშობლები მაჰმადიანები იყვნენ. სიყმაწვილეში მომავალ წმიდანს ყვავილი შეეყარა. სასიკვდილოდ დასნეულებულმა მხედველობა დაკარგა და ძალა სრულიად გამოეცალა. ერთმა ქრისტიანმა ქალმა მართლმადიდებლურ ტაძარში მიიყვანა ნეტარი და ნაკურთხი წყლის საშუალებით განკურნა იგი. ცოტა ხნის შემდეგ წმიდა კონსტანტინე ათონის მთაზე წავიდა, მოინათლა და ქრისტესთვის მოწამეობრივად აღსასრულის სურვილიც გაუჩნდა. მოძღვარმა მას ურჩია, დაყუდებულიყო, სრულ მდუმარებაში, მარხვასა და ლოცვაში გაეტარებინა ორმოცი დღე და ღმერთს მინდობოდა.
