წმიდა ნიკიფორე აღმსარებელი, კონსტანტინეპოლელი პატრიარქი (+828) დაიბადა VIII საუკუნის მეორე ნახევარში. ქრისტეს აღსარებისათვის მისმა მშობლებმა მრავალი დევნა და შევიწროება დაითმინეს ხატმბრძოლი იმპერატორის კონსტანტინე კოპრონიმისაგან (740-775). წმიდა ნიკიფორემ კარგი საერო განათლება მიიღო, მაგრამ ყველაზე ღრმად საღვთო წერილი შეისწავლა. მას ძლიერ უყვარდა სასულიერო წიგნების კითხვა.
