მღვდელმოწამე ასტი მაკედონიის ქალაქ დირაქიის ეპისკოპოსი იყო იმპერატორ ტრაიანეს დროს (98-117). ერთხელ წმიდანს ძილში საღვთო გამოცხადებით ეუწყა, რომ ახლო მომავალში წამებისა და სიკვდილის დათმენა მოუწევდა ქრისტესთვის. მან თავის დიაკვნებს ურჩია, დამალულიყვნენ, თვითონ კი შეიპყრეს და სასტიკად აწამეს. წმიდა ასტიმ არ უარყო ქრისტე. მაშინ მას სხეულზე თაფლი წაუსვეს და კრაზანების ნაკბენებით განატანჯი ჯვარზე გააკრეს. წმიდა მოწამის ცხედარი ქრისტიანებმა პატივით დაფლეს.
