წმიდა მოწამე ზოსიმე მეგვიპტელი - ბაბილონის ეპისკოპოსი (VI) დაიბადა კირიაკიაში (მცირე აზია). იგი ახალგაზრდობაშივე განერიდა ამ სოფელს და სინას მთაზე დაემკვიდრა, შემდეგ კი მარტომყოფობისთვის უფრო შესაფერ ადგილს, ლიბიას მიაშურა. აქ იგი შეხვდა ბერს, რომელმაც უწინასწარმეტყველა, რომ იგი ბაბილონის ეპისკოპოსი გახდებოდა. სინას მთაზე დაბრუნებული ზოსიმე იღუმენმა მონასტრის საქმეებზე ალექსანდრიაში გაგზავნა, ალექსანდრიის პატრიარქმა კი წმიდანი ბაბილონის ეპისკოპოსად დაადგინა. ღირსი მამა ზოსიმე მეგვიპტელი ღრმა მოხუცებულობამდე ბრძნულად განაგებდა სამწყსოს. ბოლოს კი, როცა სიკვდილის მოახლოება იგრძნო, სინაზე დაბრუნდა და იქ აღესრულა მშვიდობით.
