წმიდა მოწამე დავიქტი (ავდაქტი) და ასული მისი კალისთენია ეფესოში ცხოვრობდნენ, სადაც დავიქტი ქალაქის თავი იყო. ღვთისმოშიშმა მამამ არ ისურვა, თავისი ქალიშვილი ქრისტიანთა მდევნელი იმპერატორის, მაქსიმინესთვის (305-313) მიეთხოვებინა, რისთვისაც იგი ქალაქ მელიტინში (სომხეთი) გადაასახლეს და თავი მოჰკვეთეს (+305-313). წმიდა კალისთენია მშვიდობით მიიცვალა ეფესოში დაახლოებით 318 წელს.
