წმიდა მოწამე ფლორენტი თესალონიკში ცხოვრობდა. იგი უშიშრად ამხელდა კერპთმსახურთა ცრუსარწმუნოებას და ქრისტეს სჯულს ქადაგებდა. ამისათვის უფლის რჩეული წარმართებმა შეიპყრეს და აწამეს, შემდეგ კი კოცონში ჩააგდეს, სადაც აღესრულა კიდეც. ერთი ცნობით, ეს მოხდა I-II საუკუნეებში, სხვა ცნობით კი - III საუკუნის დასაწყისში.
