ღირსი მარკიანე - კონსტანტინეპოლის დიდი ტაძრის პრესვიტერი და იკონომოსი რომში დაიბადა, დაწყებითი განათლება კი კონსტანტინეპოლში მიიღო. მშობლების სიკვდილის შემდეგ დარჩენილი მდიდარი მემკვიდრეობა ღირსმა მამამ ტაძრების მშენებლობას, აღორძინებასა და შემკობას მოახმარა. მან ააგო და მდიდრულად მორთო წმიდა მოწამე ანასტასიის სახელობის ეკლესია და აქ გადმოასვენა წმიდანის უხრწნელი ნაწილები, ააშენა წმიდა მოწამე ირინეს ტაძარი. თავისი ზნეობრივი სიწმიდით და მკაცრი ასკეტური ცხოვრებით ღირსმა მარკიანემ პარტიარქის ყურადღება მიიქცია, რომელმაც პრესვიტერად აკურთხა და კონსტანტინეპოლის დიდი საპარტიარქო ტაძრის იკონომოსად დანიშნა იგი.
