წმიდა მოწამე ანტონინა (III-IV) ეწამა ნიკეაში, იმპერატორ მაქსიმილიანეს მიერ ქრისტიანთა დევნის დროს (284-305). სასტიკი ტანჯვის შემდეგ წმიდა ანტონინა საპყრობილეში ჩააგდეს, მაგრამ ვერაფრით აიძულეს ქრისტეს უარყოფა. წმიდანს ანგელოზები გამოეცხადნენ და გაამხნევეს. წმიდა ანტონინა გახურებულ რკინის გრდემლზე დააწვინეს, მაგრამ უვნებლად გადარჩა. მრავალი ტანჯვა-წამების შემდეგ წმიდა მოწამე ტომარაში ჩასვეს და ტბაში გადააგდეს.
