ღირსი სვიმეონ მირონმდინარე ათონზე მოღვაწეობდა და მკაცრი, ასკეტური ცხოვრებით სასწაულთქმედების ნიჭი მოიგო. მან დააარსა ახალი ბეთლემის სავანე, რომელსაც ამჟამად სვიმონ-პეტრეს მონასტერს უწოდებენ. წმიდანმა ღრმა მოხუცებულობამდე იცხოვრა და 1287 წელს მშვიდობით შეჰვედრა სული უფალს. ნეტარის წმიდა ნაწილებიდან მირონი გადმოედინებოდა.
