Sinedriului Evreiesc din vremea Mîntuitorului. în taina, el a fost urmator al lui Hristos (Matei 27: 57, loan 19: 38). losif si Nicodim au luat Trupul lui Hristos de pe Cruce, si 1-au asezat în mormmtul cel nou al lui losif. Pentru aceasta el a fost arestat de catre evrei si aruncat în închisoare. Acolo a venit la el Domnul Cel înviat, Care 1-a întarit, dovedindu-i învierea Lui. Dupa o oarecare vreme evreii 1-au scos pe losif din închisoare si 1-au izgonit din pamîntul lui stramosesc. Sfîntul losif din Arimathea a calatorit în toata lumea predicînd Evanghelia lui Hristos, si a adus Vestea cea Buna pîna si în Anglia, unde s-a savîrsit catre Domnul.
