Acestia au fost temniceri ai închisorii din Roma pe vremea cînd Sfintii Apostoli Petru si Pavel erau închisi acolo. Auzind cuvintele si fiind martori ai minunilor savîrsite de ei, cei doi temniceri au primit Sfîntul Botez si au deschis portile închisorii, lasîndu-i liberi pe Sfinti. Apostolii au parasit Roma, dar Mîntuitorul i Sa înfatisat lui Petru, care L-a întrebat: „Doamne, unde mergi?" Iar Domnul i-a zis: „Ma duc la Roma, ca sa Ma mai rastignesc o data." Rusinati, Sfintii s-au întors la Roma, unde au fost prinsi si omorîti. Ucisi împreuna cu dînsii au fost si cei doi viteji temniceri, Processus si Martinian.
