Sfîntul Agapit a fost trimis la Constantinopol, la împaratul lustinian, de catre Teodot, regele Gotilor, spre a-1 convinge pe împarat sa nu mai porneasca campanie militara împotriva gotilor. Pe drum, Sfîntul Agapit a vindecat complet un om care era si mut si olog. La Constantinopol, Sfîntul Agapit a fost partas la întarirea Ortodoxiei. El a adormit cu pace la anul 536.
