Sfîntul Artemon s-a nascut si a crescut în Seleucia. Cînd Sfîntul Apostol Pavel a sosit în aceasta cetate, el 1-a cunoscut pe Artemon, 1-a întarit înca si mai mult în sfînta credinta crestina si 1-a uns episcop acelei cetati. Artemon si-a pastorit turma cu rîvna si cu dragoste. El era doctor si al sufletelor, dar si al trupurilor omenesti. El a trecut la Domnul încarcat de întelepciune, la adînci batrînete.
