Sfînta Callia pururea miluia saracii, si ca fecioara, si mai tîrziu, ca femeie maritata. Sotul Calliei era un barbat bogat dar foarte zgîrcit. Odata, pe cînd se întorcea dintr-o calatorie de afaceri, el a vazut-o pe sotia lui cum facea milostenie saracilor, asa ca a omorît-o. Dar Dumnezeu a proslavit-o pe Callia astfel: multi bolnavi capatau sanatate deplina la sfintele ei moaste, încredintat de aceasta, Sfîntul Patriarh Antonie a întemeiat o sfînta mînastire peste mormîntul ei.
