Mare a fost nevoinţa lui, şi mare şi puterea făcătoare de minuni lui dăruită de la Domnul. Sfîntul Vassian a dobîndit la Constantinopol cam la trei sute de ucenici, între ei s-a numărat şi Sfînta Matrona. împăratul Marchian a ctitorit o slăvită mînăstire întru numele Sfîntului Vassian, care există şi în ziua de azi.
