Ei au fost din numărul celor Şaptezeci de Apostoli mai Mici. Sfintul Marcu a mai fost cunoscut şi sub numele de loan. Sfinţii apostoli sau strîns pentru rugăciune la casa mamei lui, Măria, din Ierusalim (Fapte 12: 1247). El a predicat Evanghelia împrenă cu Sfinţii Apostoli Pavel şi Barnaba (Fapte 12: 2548). După aceea, Sfîntul Marcu acesta a fost episcop al cetăţii Byblos. Sfintul Aristarh, însoţitor al Sfîntului Apostol Pavel (Fapte 19: 2949), a fost Episcop în Apameea Siriei. Aceştia au strălucit ca nişte făclii luminoase în întunericul păgînismului, scoţîndu-i din el pre mulţi, şi aducîndu-i la Credinţa Creştină. Acum ei strălucesc ca sori luminoşi în împărăţia lui Hristos Cel de ei Iubit.
