Ludmilla a fost bunica Cneazului ceh Vatslav [Wenceslaus]. Ea a fost soţia Marelui Cneaz ceh Borivoy. Credinţa ei plină de rîvnă a adus pe mulţi păgîni la Biserica lui Hristos. Dar nora ei a urît-o de moarte, şi a plătit ucigaşi care au sugrumat-o pe Ludmilla la bătrîneţele ei. Vatslav a îngropat cu cinste trupul mamei lui în Biserica Sfîntului Gheorghie de la Praga. La sfintele ei moaşte sau lucrat nenumărate minuni. Sfînta cneaghină Ludmilla a fost asasinată la Techino, la anul 927. Cneazul Vatslav însuşi a mărturisit cu sînge marea lui rîvnă pentru Ortodoxie, fiind asasinat, din această pricină, de fratele lui, Boleslav.
