călătoreau spre Tars au rămas odată la hanul ei. Cînd Măria a vrut ca să îi întîmpine şi s-a apropiat de ei, monahii au certat-o şi au împins-o la o parte ca pe o necurată. Atunci Măria s-a tulburat, şia văzut iadul vieţii ei, şi s-a pocăit cu amar. Monahii au luat-o şi au dus-o la o mînăstire de femei, unde Măria s-a nevoit în cele mai aspre postiri şi nevoinţe pînă la adînci bătrîneţi. Pe ea a învrednicit-o Dumnezeu de darul facerii de minuni încă din timpul vieţii.
