Sfîntul Mina a păstorit cu înţelepciune Biserica lui Hristos între anii 536 şi 552. Mai înainte de a fi ridicat episcop, Sfîntul Mina a avut în grijă Locaşul Sfîntului Sampson (vezi pomenirea la 27 iunie) închinat săracilor şi nevoiaşilor. Papa Agapit, care venise la Constantinopol ca să respingă erezia Patriarhului Anthim şi să îl depună pe acesta din scaun, a fost de faţă la sfinţirea Sfîntului Mina întru episcop.
