Sfîntul acesta a vieţuit la Constantinopol în veacul al doisprezecelea. Atît de mult a plăcut el lui Dumnezeu, încît porţile sfintelor biserici se deschideau singure înaintea lui, iar candelele de la icoane se aprindeau singure: aşa de mare era puterea rugăciunii lui. La dorinţa Diaconului Sozon, şi cu rugăciunile Sfîntului Nichita, a venit un preot din cealaltă lume de care Diaconul Sozon se înstrăinase şi care murise mai înainte ca ei să se fi împăcat. Mai întîi s-au arătat un şir de preoţi îmbrăcaţi în straie albe, apoi un altul îmbrăcaţi în veşminte roşii. Diaconul Sozon 1-a recunoscut pe preotul lui printre aceştia din urmă, şi a făcut pace cu el. Acestea toate s-au întîmplat în timpul nopţii, la Biserica din Vlaherne.
