Acest Isus a fost al lui Navi, şi următor lui Moise, celui ce a fost dătător de Lege evreilor. Acesta a luat şi cetatea Ierihonului, care era a celor de alt neam. El a văzut pe Arhistrategul Mihail ţinând în mână spada, şi aflând el că acesta este mai-marele Voievod al puterii Domnului, lepadându-si armele, a căzut la picioarele lui. Însă dând el război cu cei de alt neam, şi fiind gata să apună soarele, având el osârdie spre razboi, rugatu-s-a lui Dumnezeu şi a zis să stea soarele. Şi îndată a fost oprit soarele din calea lui să nu apună, până ce a înfrânt Iosua pe cei străini care au fugit, şi i-au biruit cu putere. Apoi povătuind el poporul, şi trecându-i prin pustie şi împărtindu-le pământul făgăduinţei, şi judecând pe popor douăzeci şi şapte de ani, s-a făcut înfricoşător vrăjmaşilor. Şi arătându-şi bărbăţia şi fapta bună în multe războaie, a murit, şi a fost îngropat cu cinste de poporul său.
