Sfantul Isidor s-a nascut in Alexandria si a fost conducator in armata imparatului Deciu (249-251). Ostasul Iuliu este cel care ii vesteste comandantului armatei ca Isidor este crestin. Lui Isidor i s-a cerut sa renunte la credinta crestina si sa jertfeasca idolilor. Refuza, motiv pentru care i se taie limba. In chip miraculos, chiar fara limba, Isidor Il marturisea pe Hristos. Isidor a fost condamnat la moarte in anul 251. A primit cununa muceniciei prin taierea capului.
