Sfantul Teodor cel Sfintit a fost ucenicul Sfantului Pahomie cel Mare. S-a nascut si a crescut pagan in Tebaida de Sus. La varsta de 14 ani paraseste casa parintilor si merge la manastirea Sfantului Pahomie. Mai tarziu se vor calugari atat mama sa, cat si fratele lui. Dupa moartea Sfantului Pahomie, Teodor a fost ridicat de catre obste staret al tuturor sfintelor manastiri intemeiate de staretul sau. Sfantul Teodor cel Sfintit a trecut la cele vesnice pe 16 mai 367.
