Sfintul Acachie a fost ofiter în armata romana în timpul împaratiei lui Maximian. Raspunzînd înaintea chinuitorilor pentru nadejdea lui în Hristos, el a zis ca a primit-o de la scumpii si credinciosii lui parinti, si de asemenea de la vederea aievea a celor multe minuni petrecute la moastele sfintilor Lui. îndurînd cu vitejie uimitoare chinuri mari, la care a fost dat în cetatea Pyrrinthus din Tracia, mucenicul Acachie a fost adus la Bizant. Aici el a fost schingiuit si mai bestial, fiind la urma ucis prin taierea capului. El a luat cu cinste cununa muceniciei si s-a stramutat la locasurile cele ceresti ale împaratului slavei la anul 303.
