Eustochie a fost popa idolesc ce a trait în vremea împaratiei lui Maximian, dar vazînd el ce fel este vitejia mucenicilor crestini, s-a lepadat de idolatria lui si dorit si s-a învrednicit de Sfîntul Botez, însusi Eudoxie Episcopul Antiohiei 1-a botezat pe el. Dupa acestea, Eustochie, încetul cu încetul, a început sa le aduca la Sfînta Credinta pe toate rudeniile lui. Ruda lui Gaius s-a botezat cu toti cei trei copii ai lui: Probus, Lollius si Urban. Ei toti, împreuna si cu altii, au fost adusi înaintea necuratilor judecatori, torturati si omorîti prin taierea capului la Lystra, vina fiind credinta lor nezdruncinata în Hristos. Asa s-au înaltat la ceruri sfintele lor suflete, stramutîndu-se întru locasurile cele ceresti ale Vesnicei si Fericitei împaratii a Stapînului Hristos.
