Sfantul Isaachie a trait in secolul al IV-lea. Pentru ca imparatul Valens Arianul (364-378) prigonea Ortodoxia, pustnicul Isaachie vine in Constantinopol spre a-i intari pe crestini si a cere imparatului, bisericile ortodoxe date arienilor. Este supus la multe chinuri si ii proroceste imparatului moartea pentru ca nu a inapoiat ortodocsilor bisericile luate si date arienilor. Imparatul Valens va muri in lupta cu barbarii.
