Aceasta sfînta mucenita Teodosia s-a nascut ca rod al rugaciunilor maicii ei catre Sfînta Mucenita Anastasia, care i-a aparut în vedenie si i-a vestit ca va naste prunc. Parintii ei au închinat-o lui Dumnezeu de la o vîrsta foarte frageda si au dus-o la o mînastire de fecioare. Dupa moartea parintilor ei Teodosia a mostenit o avere enorma, din care ea a poruncit unui aurar sa-i faca trei icoane: una a Mîntuitorului, una a Preasfintei Nascatoare de Dumnezeu, si una a Sfintei Mucenite Anastasia. Cealalta parte a imensei ei averi a daruit-o toata saracilor. Ea a luat mucenicia la anul 730, în timpul domniei nelegiuitului împarat Leon Isaurul, luptatorul împotriva sfintelor icoane. Ea s-a încununat cu îndoita cununa: a întregii feciorii si a muceniciei.
