Leontie era de neam grec, din Peloponez. El a dus timp de saizeci de ani o viata de nevointe aspre în Mînastirea Dionisiu si s-a odihnit întru Domnul la anul 1605, în vîrsta fiind de optzeci si cinci de ani. Despre acest sfînt s-a zis ca doar o data a intrat în Sfînta Mînastire Dionisiu, si doar o data a iesit din ea, în cei saizeci de ani întru care s-a nevoit acolo. Adica, el a intrat în ea cînd a ajuns prima oara acolo ca sa se faca monah, si a iesit din ea doar cînd a fost dus la groapa. Sfîntul Leontie acesta avea harul stravederii si prorociei, iar dupa moarte din trupul lui a izvorînt mir înmiresmat.
