Fericitul Paladie şi-a făcut o căsuţă mică într-un munte şi s-a închis într-însa. Şi-a împodobit viaţa cu privegherea, cu rugăciunea necurmată şi cu postirea. Pentru aceasta a luat de la Dumnezeu darul facerii de minuni. Astfel, un neguţător care avea mult aur la el, a fost ucis de un ucigaş şi aruncat mort lângă chilia sfântului. Când s-a făcut ziuă şi s-a vădit fapta, toţi dădeau vina uciderii pe cuviosul Paladie. Iar el, înconjurat fiind de multă mulţime de oameni, a făcut rugăciune şi a înviat mortul. Acest mort sculându-se a arătat pe ucigaş. Şi alte minuni a făcut cuviosul, dar mai ales s-au minunat credincioşii de virtuţile lui. Mutându-se în pace către Domnul a lăsat Bisericii scrieri folositoare.
