Sfântul mucenic Alexandru, episcop fiind si învatând si întorcând si botezând pe multi a fost prins de guvernator si fiind chinuit mult si silit ca sa jertfeasca la idoli, n-a vrut sa se supuna. Deci, vazând Iraclie ostasul rabdarea lui a crezut în Hristos si chinuindu-l si pe acesta mai întâi mult, i-au taiat capul. Si facând Sfântul Alexandru minuni si tamaduindu-se de rani, cu ajutorul si harul lui Dumnezeu a tras spre credinta lui Hristos si pe patru femei: Teodota, Glicheria, Anna si Elisaveta care înaintea guvernatorului stând si mustrând înselaciunea idolilor, li s-au taiat capetele. Apoi si Sfântul Alexandru s-a savârsit lovit de sabie.
