Sfantul Talaleu, sirian de origine, a fost un mare nevoitor din prima jumatate a veacului al VI-lea. Initial, Sfantul Talaleu a fost monah in Manastirea Sfantul Sava cel Sfintit de langa Ierusalim, iar mai apoi acesta a decis sa-si traiasca restul vietii intr-un cimitir. In acest loc, timp de multi ani, a indurat numeroase atacuri si loviri ale duhurilor necurate. Dumnezeu, l-a invrednicit pe cuvios cu harul facerii de minuni, acesta vindecand si alinand pe cei bolnavi si pe cei aflati in suferinta. Sfantul Talaleu a murit in jurul anului 460.
