Свети Киријак поверова у Христа и крсти се после обретења часног и животворног Крста Госиодњег од стране Св. цара Константина и мајке му Св. Јелене. Потом, би епископ Јерусалимски. Он доживе до царовања Јулијана Одступника. У време свог ратног похода против Персијанаца цар Јулијан се задржа у Јерусалиму. Ту он изведе на суд светог Киријака, и примораваше га да принесе жртву идолима. Но светитељ то одлучно одби, и притом изобличи цара одступника. Тада Одступник нареди да му одсеку десну руку, говорећи светитељу: Много си посланица написао том руком, и многе си одвратио од поштовања богова.
