Acesta a fost episcop în cetatea Parium din Helespont. Silit fiind de tribunul Zilichintie să intre în oaste, s-a împotrivit. Pentru aceasta a fost legat de patru stâlpi şi bătut cu toiege. Apoi din porunca lui Liciniu a fost înecat în mare, după ce întorsese la Hristos pe unii corăbieri şi ostaşi. Creştinii i-au scos trupul din apă şi l-au îngropat la poarta cetăţii. Moaştele lui au săvârşit vindecări şi minuni.
