Aceasta traia pe vremea pagânului Iulian, maritata fiind mai înainte si nascând roada vrednica lui Dumnezeu, pe preotul Ion care a fost purtator de grija pentru orânduiala Bisericii, si pururea fugea de vrednicia episcopiei, pentru multa lui smerenie. Deci mergând atunci Iulian la Antiohia, având multa mândrie demonica si silind pe toti sa creada în demoni, aceasta cinstita batrâna, a început a cânta în fata împaratului cu niste fecioare: "Idolii pagânilor argint si aur, lucruri de mâini omenesti". Pentru aceasta târând-o, au batut-o tare peste obraz, atâta cât s-a rosit si pamântul de sângele ei, dar nu a fost omorâta, pâna la întoarcerea Paravatului. Acela însa, fiind înjunghiat, nu s-a mai întors, iar ea traind un an dupa aceea, cu pace s-a dus catre Domnul.
